Little Snitch protects your privacy! Once you are connected to the Internet, the app potentially sends whatever information they want to wherever they want. Sometimes they do this for good reason, on your clear request. But often they are not. Little Snitch is intercepting this unwanted extension attempt, and lets you decide how to proceed.
Key Features :
Restricted Network Monitoring
Look under the hood for a glimpse of who talks with who. The Little Snitch Network Monitor raises the network traffic monitoring bar to an entirely new level. Real-time diagrams provide smooth traffic information, combined with powerful and easy options to analyze bandwidth, traffic volume, connection status and more.
Take control of your system
When an app tries to connect to a server on the Internet, Little Snitch shows the connection reminder, allowing you to decide whether to allow or reject the connection. Your decision will be saved as a rule that will automatically be applied in the future, similar connection attempts from the same application.
Silent Mode – Decide Later
At times you do not want to be interrupted by any network-related notification. With Silent Mode you can quickly choose to silence all connection warnings for a while. You can then check the Silent Mode Log to specify a fixed rule for an experiment attempt that occurred at that time.
Have you ever wondered why the process you have never heard before suddenly wants to connect to some servers on the Internet? The Research Assistant helps you find the answer. It only requires one click on the research button to request anonymously additional information for the current connection from the Research Assistant Database.
Automatic Profile Change
Methods can be arranged in different profiles such as “Home”, “Office” or “Mobile Internet”. This allows you to use different filter rule sets depending on the network you are connecting to. Profiles can be enabled either manually from the status menu, or automatically, when you join the network associated with one of your profiles.
Firewall for incoming connection
Little Snitch not only exposes any exit network connection attempts to ensure that sensitive data does not leave your computer without your consent. Firewalls in Little Snitch give you the same level of control for incoming connections.
