Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery lives up to its name, with great interface design and the power to get files back to life like a self-regenerating Phoenix. Of all data recovery software we tested, it is by far the most useful design and is among the best artists in terms of the number of recovered files. Everything about Stellar Phoenix is smooth as silk, and it shares our Editors Choice Award with OnTrack EasyRecovery, which is a little more powerful but much harder to use efficiently.
The Stellar Phoenix software begins by presenting a spacious screen asking you what to restore and offers options to restore all data, meaning all files, folders, documents, emails and anything else – or just documents, the contents of specific folders , emails, or photos, audio or video files. By default, each document type is selected for reset, but you can restrict the search to your settings. The next screen shows a Windows Explorer-style menu in your common places, such as the desktop or document folder, plus your disk.
